Industry Appointments Privacy Statement

SPG Media Ltd

At SPG Media Ltd we take your right to privacy very seriously. This statement describes the practices we apply at SPG Media Ltd with respect to your personal data and expresses our approach to complying with the data protection laws that apply within the UK.

About Us

SPG Media Ltd is registered to collect and process data under the UK Data Protection Act 1998. We will deal with any personal information that you provide to us in accordance with the provisions of UK data protection laws. This website contains links to other websites over which we have no control. SPG Media Ltd is not responsible for the privacy policies or practices of other websites to which you chose to link from this site. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of those other websites so you can understand how they collect, use and share your information.

The Protection Of Your CV

We regard your CV as a very personal document and we wish you to have full control over who can view it and whether you wish to have your personal details such as name, address, telephone and email addresses visible to recruiters.

Industryappointments.com gives you the opportunity to submit your CV into a searchable database which will help greatly in your search for employment. Our system gives you the choice in the level of confidentiality that you believe is appropriate.

It is your choice to determine the level by which your CV is searchable by industryappointments.com customers. Allowing your CV to be searchable by employers will greatly increase your chances of finding suitable employment, however should you not wish this to be the case you can select your CV to be hidden from the CV database during the registration process. You will be asked upon registration whether you wish to have your details included in the general database. By choosing not to add your CV to the general database will mean recruiters do not have access to it but will mean you gain access to it and can use it when applying for individual jobs.

You may remove your CV from our searchable database at any time. However recruiters who have paid for access to the database may have retained a copy of your CV in their own files or databases. We are not responsible for the retention, use, or privacy of your CV by recruiters in these instances.

Should you submit your CV to put in our database, then you will be providing us with personal data which we will use in accordance with this statement. We strongly suggest that your CV should not contain data relating to your (i) racial or ethnic origin (ii) political beliefs (iii) philosophical or religious beliefs (iv) membership of a trade union or a political party (v) physical or mental health (vi) sexual life or (vii) the commission or criminal offences or proceedings. If your CV does contain such data, then you agree that we may retain this information and use it in accordance with this statement.

You should be aware that if you have a rare skill, it may still be possible for a recruiter to identify you even without your contact details being included on your CV. If you are worried about being identified, you should not include specific skills or details by which you could be identified.

Should you provide us with details of a referee within your CV, it is your responsibility to inform that person that you have forwarded their details and that they have consented in writing for you to do so.

Jobs By Email

The Jobs By Email service matches a job seeker’s requirements for employment with the profile of vacancies advertised on industryappointments.com. Job seekers that subscribe to this service will receive job alerts which we believe will be of interest for you.

Your job alerts are defined by the areas of interest which you have stated within your registration. You can change these areas of interest or unsubscribe at any time.
