Job profile
Generation Business Division provides world class expertise in technical, commercial, project management, environmental and advisory aspects of thermal and renewable power generation technologies, cogeneration, combined heat and power, hydropower and desalination.
A project manager is required to join the Generation Thermal Power Sub-division to lead one or more multi – disciplinary project teams undertaking wide range power generation projects worldwide. Career progression and staff development opportunities are available for candidates leading a project director, business development, team leadership or technical expert roles within the division.
Job Description
Reporting to a Team Leader in one of our UK offices, a Project Manager is required to lead one or more project teams engaged on a wide range of thermal power projects being undertaken by the Generation Thermal Power Sub-division.
Key elements of this role include experience of thermal power generation plants gained in the design, manufacture, or operation of existing assets or the development of Greenfield power projects. Knowledge and experience of the contractual arrangements and interfaces such a Power Purchases Agreements, Fuel Supply Agreements, Engineer Procure and Construct Agreements, Operations and Maintenance Agreements, plant performance modelling, risk management and mitigation applicable to thermal power projects is desirable.
Experience of undertaking feasibly studies or working as a Lenders/Owners’ Engineer would be beneficial.
Projects and assignments are undertaken worldwide, therefore there will be requirements for overseas travel to attend meetings and visit sites and these can be of variable duration.
There are opportunities for long term assignments to power plant projects to meet particular career development opportunities.
Candidate Specification
Essential Academic, professional qualifications and experience
First degree or equivalent in mechanical, electrical or C & I engineering
Desired academic/ professional qualifications and experience:
Masters degree or equivalent in mechanical, electrical or C & I engineering
Essential competencies:
MS Office or equivalent
Good reporting writing & communication skills
Desired.
