My Client is looking for a Civil Assurance and Development Engineer to work in Brighton. Job profile. Transmission & Distribution - Civil Assurance and Development Engineer. The Energy sector is one of the key areas of activity both within the UK and Internationally. The Transmission & Distribution business is a key element of the unit and is at the forefront of the companies plans for expansion. The unit has UK offices located in Brighton, York and Glasgow. The team is made up of international experts sourced from all over the globe. As a part of our current expansion plans an opportunity exists to join our civil team in Brighton. Much of the work will be in support of the South East Electricity Alliance activities (SEESA), the organisation formed of Areva, Skanska, National Grid and Mott MacDonald charged with the construction and refurbishment of National Grid's High Voltage Electricity Substations throughout the South East of England, although other opportunities will exist, including the potential for work on projects in mainland Europe. Aspects of work will include the planning and preliminary design of new High Voltage Substations and their associated infrastructure, and the Civil Design Assurance for their construction. Candidates will need to be qualified to degree level and ideally will have achieved or be working towards chartered status. You will need a broad experience in civil engineering involving both site and design based work. Experience should include earthworks, drainage, foundation design and construction, geotechnical engineering, construction of industrial type buildings, condition assessment of structures, programme management, quantity surveying and environmental engineering. In undertaking their roles individuals will be required to liaise closely with engineers of other disciplines and attend scheme development and design review meetings on a regular basis.
