Job Description
A global design, engineering, infrastructure and environmental consultancy requires an experienced Geotechnical Design Manager to work out of the Birmingham office. This role comes with excellent career progression potential.

About the Role
*Play a key part in a wide range of projects, some of which may be focused on railways and highways, including design and supervision
*Projects will include site investigation, slope stability, slope remediation, concrete retaining, soil nailing and embankment studies
*You will be designing foundations and buried structures as well as site investigation plans and retaining solutions
*You will also be responsible for the supervision of ground investigations

About You
*Degree educated in Civil Engineering, Geology or Engineering Geology
*MSc degree educated in Foundation Engineering or Geotechnical Engineering
*Strong relevant experience with some of if gained in a design capacity, ideally with a consultancy although from a specialist civil engineering contractor would also be considered
*Experience of reinforced concrete structures, especially foundations
*Experience of working to BS 5930
*Solid background in site / ground investigations, trial pits, boreholes and testing
*Ability to write factual and interpretive reports
*A full UK Driver's license
