Our client is a joint venture operator in the Former Soviet Union. We are recruiting a Drilling Engineer, on a 28/28 rotation, to handle design and planning for this operation, preparing working programs on future operations, including :
Strategic development planning (long and medium term 10-2 year focus)
Contracting strategies and long lead tangible definition
HSE assessment and risk analysis
Well functionality, typology & selection
Casing design optimisation
Technology appraisal & application
Scheduling and project management
Cost and time estimation
Design project approval with local authorities
Civil allotment and wellhead placement
Other duties will be to:
Develop strategic and tactical programs, plans, procedures and schedules,
Ensure continuous equipment operation, consistency of the contractors and service companies activity
Develop programs and provide a technical and practical support for the programs implementation, abide by Health, Safety and Environmental regulations
Draw up operations schedule, requisitions, orders, guidelines, charts, diagrams and other technical documentations. Exercise control and coordinate actions to timely and appropriately execute the works conducted by drilling rig and contractors.
Study and review the information, technical data, performance indicators and the results of work, generalize and classify them, perform required calculations. Carry out feasibility study, fully justify decisions being made and implemented, promote the process of their preparation and implementation and provide required technical information, documentations, materials, equipment and etc.
Promote introduction of state-of-the-art techniques and technologies to enhance the operations.
Participate in technical documentation assessment and drawing up the required review, reports and conclusions related to the work carried out. Audit documentation recorded at the job places, its completeness, compliance with corporate policy and safety regulations.
Explain company policy statements and statutory Health, Safety Environmental regulations and occupational sanitation as well to Well Operations personnel and contractors; promote and enforce adherence of all the personnel to these procedures.
Follow up the compliance with the statutory requirements, regulations, current norms, standards and rules.
Analyse and summarize the work done, reveal deficiencies and propose corrective measures.
Carry out risk assessment of each particular operation and communicate to the operation personnel.
Participate in incidents and accidents investigation.
Candidates must possess a degree in Petroleum or Mechanical Engineering.
Candidates should possess:
At least 8 years of experience in Drilling and Workover activities.
At least 5 years experience in Field Development Planning activities.
Prior experience with high pressure and sour gas wells.
Experience in field with wells greater than 4000m.
Arctic or cold weather experience.
Solid understanding of cost-effectiveness and general commercial business issues.
Solid understanding of technological regimes and solutions.
Solid appreciation of formal assurance processes and well delivery requirements.
Knowledge of risk management, portfolio management and HSE management.
Have ability to work with Landmark spreadsheet applications for stress analyses (Stress Check, WellCat)..
