Based in Oxfordshire, our client is a new company formed to advance laser micromachining applications world-wide. They perform application specific process research, design, engineering and manufacture of advanced laser processing tools for micron scale ablative machining, and other specialised laser materials processing. They have initially been formed as the laser application development centre, to provide niche microelectronics production machines for their internal manufacturing processes. The final, miniature, microelectronics components will be used in the fast growing portable and handheld electronics industry.

As they are rapidly expanding, they currently require a Commissioning Engineer to support their growing team, to be responsible for final integration, test, tune and installation of prototype and development machines which will be further integrated for production quantities by their established supply chain in Taiwan and Hong Kong.

In general candidates will come from an engineering background and have good communication skills whilst being multi-disciplinary and flexible as possible with a number of years experience in a high technology environment. The skills required include:

*Mechanical and Electrical assembly
*Optical assembly and alignment
*Testing, commissioning and laser application tuning
*Automation, motion control and robotic systems
*Installation, service and customer support (foreign travel will be a pre-requisite)
*Experience with the set up, alignment and commissioning of lasers and optical systems is advantageous, however, full training will be given.

In return my client offers a basic salary of up to £35,000 and 25 days holiday plus statutory bank holidays.
