Our client provides engineering services and systems solutions to major customers in the energy and utility sectors worldwide, with leading edge methodologies in Structural Reliability Analysis, Pressure Uprating, Direct Assessment, and Remnant Life estimation. Due to increased workload exciting opportunities now exist to support one or more of these technical areas.
Key responsibilities include delivering structural integrity projects on plant, pressure vessels and pipelines using probabilistic and deterministic methods, developing new probabilistic techniques for analysing structural integrity.
Depending on experience and abilities, responsibility for ensuring technical quality in the appropriate field(s), and being the custodian for methodologies, associated software and processes and developing new business including initiating and closing out proposals will form part of the role.
Key skills and attributes
Relevant degree or higher qualification, or equivalent in mechanical or structural engineering or closely related discipline. Chartered status advantageous
Strong mathematical abilities essential
Excellent report writing and oral presentation skills
Proven ability in one of the following areas:
Reliability based design
Structural reliability analysis of pressure vessels or pipelines
Probabilistic methods for integrity assessment
Integrity assessments based on in line inspection data
Fitness for purpose assessments using deterministic methods
Knowledge of international standards relating to pipeline integrity management
Flexibility, drive and determination
The successful candidate will be based in one of the UK offices in Scotland, North East England or the East Midlands. Please note that a willingness to travel within the UK and overseas is essential.
