Our Client is a leading provider of both turnkey and reimbursable engineering solutions and life cycle services to the nuclear, water, metals, energy and process industries in the UK and abroad.


We currently require a Senior E,I and C, QC Inspection Engineer, This is a permanent vacancy to work at Stockton and is an urgent requirement. Candidates must be highly experienced in this discipline and need to have experience within the key industry sectors but in particular the Nuclear industry.

Job Description as follows:

Agree an appropriate inspection regime for subcontractors, so that resource is focussed effectively and is based on the risks involved
Carry out inspections at vendors premises, and report on status to the Quality Manager and Project Manager, to ensure that goods and materials meet the design specification
Authorise the release of goods and materials from vendors premises for dispatch to the project, so that the site team can be assured that such goods and materials meet the design specification when arriving at site
Review and approve quality plans, functional test procedures and associated documents, also the life time quality data dossier for the equipment. This includes, test data, calibration records, configuration and CE Marking certifications, etc, to ensure materials and equipment is complete and compliance.
Liaise with and agree specific inspection and test requirements with E,I & C, engineers during the project design phase, for inclusion on Inspection requirements documents and equipment datasheets
Coordinate activities with client and third party inspectors as required, so that each partys inspection needs are addressed in the most effective and efficient manner.
Generate man hour estimates for bids, so that the business has an accurate understanding of the QC costs when tendering for work.
Lead the activities of other QC personnel regarding E, I and C inspection and testing to ensure that QC delivery meets scope, time, cost and quality.

Essential:

Minimum ONC-level qualified in Electrical/Instrumentation & Control
Thorough knowledge of Electrical, Instrumentation and Control equipment, MCC, Switchgear and Control Panels
Experience in the Nuclear, Petrochemical and Process Industries
Conversant with manufacturing standards and current legislative requirements
Computer literate
IOSH/NEBOSH certificate
Written and Verbal communication skills with Client, Vendor and Internal Aker Solutions Personnel
