Job Description
A leading, environmental and engineering consultancy is currently looking to recruit an Assistant Geotechnical Engineer to join the existing and busy Highways team in Manchester and be involved in a variety of tasks. This role comes with excellent career prospects.

About the Role
You will be working closely with the relevant Project Managers and your responsibilities will include;
*Site supervision and ensuring appropriate ground investigation takes place including planning
*Adhering to design methodology and appropriate standards
*Ensuring schedules and costs guidelines are maintained
*Understanding project briefs
*Preparing reports

About You
*A degree in Civil Engineering, Geology or Engineering Geology is essential
*A related MSc, i.e. Geotechnics, Foundation Design etc would be an advantage
*Working towards becoming Chartered would also be a distinct advantage
*Excellent written and verbal communication skills
*Exposure to project management of Geotechnical teams is favourable
*Be able to work under pressure and closely with clients and colleagues
*Knowledge of foundation design, pile foundations, slope stability, retaining walls and all associated calculations would be expected.
*You must be able to work and drive in the UK.
