An enthusiastic geotechnical engineer is required to work as a member of the geotechnics team in my clients' Nottingham, generally office based with periods on site as required. The geotechnical team is a part of Civil and Planning Midlands in Nottingham, a busy multi-disciplinary group that has strong links with the Birmingham and Leeds offices. The team workload is varied and includes prime agency commissions and a significant amount of service work on multi-disciplinary projects, generally with a large number of projects underway at any one time. The candidate would generally act as Project Geotechnical Engineer, or as part of a larger team. The candidate would also be required to support the team leader with the co-ordination of team workload and coaching of junior engineers. The role will involve: - Desk studies and organisation of ground investigations - Preparation of interpretative reports - Design and preparation of specifications - Client liaison - Site attendance and site liaison during construction works - Specialist advice to internal and external clients - Participating in the geotechnical skills network Essential requirements: -Good numerical skills and an aptitude for report writing -Experience of geotechnical design, in particular geotechnical analysis -An MSc in a related subject -A full UK driving license For more information on this role please call Ben Boyce at NES on 0121 523 1256 or email your CV to ben.boyce@nes.co.uk
