An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Chartered Town planner to join an industry leading firm of consulting engineers in their Birmingham office. As an experienced Chartered Town Planner, the post-holder will take responsibility for providing a professional focus for the development of the Planning, Policy and Economics business in the Midlands: in particular work will focus on the ability to negotiate planning consents and guide the masterplanning of major site development / regeneration. Other areas of work will include regional and local planning policy development. The post holder will already be working at a senior level and will have the potential to progress to Associate subject to satisfactory performance. The post-holder will lead bids and submissions for assignments, be successful in winning work and developing client relationships and assist in the development of the planning, policy and economics business and help to grow a professional team at the Birmingham office. The successful candidate will have the following qualifications: ? A successful career at senior level in town and country planning, gained in the public and / or private sector, with a focus on planning consent work, master planning and major site development / regeneration. ? Demonstrable experience and capability at working at the strategic and local level and managing large scale high profile projects successfully. ? A good understanding of development planning process and its links to policy and delivery. ? A good first degree, plus a post-graduate qualification; MRTPI/ MRICS (planning and development) is essential. ? A strong team ethos and commitment to developing the Group?s business. The post offers considerable scope for career progression and development as part of a successful and expanding Group. There is also the potential to participate in some of the largest and most prestigious development projects throughout the world. The UK Planning Policy and Economics Group is currently some 70 staff and is committed to a programme of expansion and development.
