Our client is currently seeking a Systems Engineer to work on a prestigious project which will transform several of the London underground lines. This project is a long term venture, planned to run until 2018 and will require people from the initial scoping phase through to full delivery of the project. This position will be based in Central London and requires individuals who can work well in a team to see the project through from start to completion.

Role purpose:
To be a technical specialist for the implementation of Human Factors engineering within my clients works capital investment programmes and other projects with the prime aim of technically enabling the delivery of the Companys PPP contractual objectives and Supply Chain contracts. Implementing and maintaining assured Human Factors engineering processes for the effective and efficient execution of projects (including technical compliance) such that they can be delivered to time, cost, quality and safety requirements and that progress is monitored and reported to enable proactive investment prioritisation. Provision of Human Factors engineering expertise to the programmes and delivery of high level and project level Human Factors system documentation. Provide support to the Programme System Engineers and Project Engineer(s) for Human Factors engineering assurance.

Experience, know-how, qualifications and licences:
Essential:
Engineering degree or equivalent professional qualification.
Member of a relevant engineering institute and evidence of CPD
Proven track record of delivering multidisciplinary Human Factors projects within time and budget.
Ability to manage multiple projects.
Experience of the application of Human Factors Engineering to railway infrastructure type programmes
Substantial track record of providing commercial achievement in an engineering environment
Able to identify systems and processes and demonstrate ability to implement at a practical level.
Knowledge of Human Factors engineering standards and operational processes in a railway environment.
A general understanding of safety related/safety critical applications.
Good communication skills, both orally and in writing, and confidence in dealing with people from different discipline areas and at all levels across the Company.

Desirable:
Experience of Requirements Management and associated tools
Experience of feasibility studies and optioneering/trade off studies.
Appropriate Safety Training for access to the Operational Railway
