An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Marine Engineer experienced in Moorings & Naval Architecture to join a leading Renewables organisation specialising in Wave Energy Technology. Based at their Head Office in Edinburgh you will be involved in the Design of Mooring Systems and provision of Naval Architecture/Engineering Support for Installation works, Operation and Maintenance and Towing and Handling of the Wave Energy Technology as well as ongoing Research and Development.

You will be degree qualified (or equivalent) in Naval Architecture, Offshore Marine Engineering or a relative Mechanical Engineering field with experience in Umbilical and Moorings Design, Stability and Towing Calculations and the application of Marine Codes and Industry best practice. You must have a working knowledge of Standard Marine Mooring Systems, the Environmental Impact affecting the Design of Moorings and Umbilical's, and the disciplines involved in Designing Seaworthy Marine Vessels including Ballasting, Trim, Intact and Damaged Floatation & Stability and their calculations. You will be involved in the definition of Towing Requirements, Vessel Specifications and Reporting on Safety issue for Marine Warranty Surveyors as well as being directly involved in the Research and Development of Moorings and Umbilical Systems including Scale Model Testing. Occasionally you may be required to Support Offshore Operations, including attendance Offshore on Installation and Towing Vessels.

This is an excellent opportunity for an Experienced Marine Engineer/Naval Architect to join a successful and rapidly expanding Renewables Organisation that has received much recognition for its Technology. The role will attract a salary of £35K - £40K with a very Competitive Benefits Package. As the role will involve some travel around the UK and overseas you will require a UK driving license.
