Our Client is an international multi-disciplinary consultancy and we are seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our Building Services Team in the Edinburgh office. The successful candidates will form part of the design team taking projects from feasibility study stage through to detailed design. Job description The role will provide a range of challenging and dynamic projects where you will have the ability to receive and develop a brief and contribute to the development of the design and construction process. Principle functions include carrying out the electrical design for the projects Calculate lighting levels within rooms, provide all electrical layout and establish power schemes Write the specification for the projects and establish the schedules for all equipment Coordinate with the Mechanical design engineers Liaise with the design team members to convey the requirements of the M&E service to them, as well as understanding the client brief Respond to contractor queries and attend site progress meetings Candidate specification Candidates should have a good multidisciplinary knowledge of their field and be able to positively advise other disciplines regarding aspects of their design as it impacts mechanical engineering issues Experience in leading a design team Chartered or nearing Chartership Preferably a BEng/MSc, or an HND/HNC considered Good communication skills Experience and exposure of a range of mechanical engineering solutions Experience working in UK Mechanical engineering involved in the lifecycles of projects Experience working in or with a multi-disciplinary design consultancy A strong technical focus Strong IT skills ideally with AutoCAD experience Capability to work to deadlines and work autonomously when required We offer you Our Client offers a competitive salary and monthly profit share scheme.
