Quantity Surveyor/Senior Quantity Surveyor – Varied construction projects - Cardiff

Established over 15 years ago, my client has become one of the largest privately owned building companies in the south of Wales and now has a turnover in excess of £30m.

They are currently looking for a Quantity Surveyor/Senior Quantity Surveyor to be based from their Cardiff office. The successful candidate will be working on new build construction projects in various sectors up to around £10m, the company also work on fast track fit out projects.

The main tasks/responsibilities will include:

• Analysis of tender / bid information and set up project financially for resource purchasing and reporting purposes.
• Set profitability targets with the team and regularly produce financial progress
• reports.
• Liaise with the construction team members (internal & external) on all issues that have a commercial bearing.
• Participate and be influential in regular risk reviews and problem solving.
• Be aware of the contractual relationship and render advice and guidance to the team.
• Ensure that contractual procedures are correctly executed and reported internally as appropriate.
• Prompt procurement and negotiation of subcontracts, preparation on subcontracts with appropriate qualifications, administration and valuation of subcontractor accounts and final account agreements in order to minimise out turn costs.
• Secure the best possible (value and timing) payments from the client in order to maximise cash flow.

Requirements:
• 5 years Quantity Surveying experience
• Contractor background
• Construction experience
