An excellent Managing Quantity Surveyor / Quantity Surveyor is required to join a prestigious housing developer based in the Hertfordshire area to work on New Build housing / residential projects. This is an excellent opportunity for the successful candidate to really further their career and learn new skills.

£55,000 package

The client:
My clients were founded in the early 1980’s and since those early days they have established themselves as one of the leading high quality affordable housing companies and has a long history of collaborative work within local communities and an ethos built on creating lasting environmental benefits.
My client works on new build, refurbishment and design and builds residential work, however they do not work on maintenance work (planned or reactive). Due to a recent influx of new work and the expansion of the commercial department my client is looking to appoint a Managing Quantity Surveyor or Quantity Surveyor to help take control of an existing team.
The job for the Managing Quantity Surveyor/Quantity Surveyor/QS:
As the successful Senior Quantity Surveyor / Managing Quantity Surveyor your duties will consist of, but not be limited to:
Familiarizing contract documentation to ensure a working knowledge.
Ensure the business interests are maintained as required with notification of all matters relating to contract.
Ensure timely and accurate payments of subcontractors with supporting documentation.
Attend, note and chase actions from monthly site meetings.
Preparation of sub contract tender enquiries.
Provide active cost control advice, reporting and explaining any cost movement.
Liaise and build relationships to ensure effective communications with all departments.
Ensure timely applications for payment in accordance with contract including monitoring receipt.
Cross check monthly cost reports to ensure accuracy and correct allocations of costs.
Requirements for the Managing Quantity Surveyor/Quantity Surveyor/QS:
Ideally more than 10 years Quantity Surveying experience
Main Contractor / Housing Developer background is advantageous
