My client has been consistently winning significant national and international projects. They are therefore expanding and developing the regional Transportation Planning teams to support the capability to deliver high quality, cost effective and tailored solutions to our public and private sector clients. They are seeking a Graduate or Assistant Public Transport Planner to support a team of three public transport specialists based in the Norwich office. You will be involved on a range of projects which are industry and public high profile. The work will be challenging, varied and offer fantastic opportunities for skill set and career development. Working on a range of challenging small and large projects, the post holder will become an integral member of the Public Transport and Transportation Planning teams providing support for current and ongoing work in the public transport sector and on transportation studies. Responsibilities of the role: ? Collection and analysis of public transport demand, network and operational data ? Development of bus and LRT operations plans ? Contributing to feasibility studies for public transport infrastructure and passenger interchange projects, leading to the design and implementation of schemes ? Appraisal of public transport proposals to support sustainable housing and employment growth ? Analysis for the post-implementation evaluation of public transport initiatives and schemes Potential candidates will have an interest in developing a career in public transport consultancy and be able to demonstrate knowledge of public transport operations and policy issues. Candidates should ideally have some work experience in the public transport industry, a local authority transportation team or consultancy. Experience of public transport network analysis, planning and vehicle/crew scheduling would be particularly useful. Candidates should have a transportation planning or related degree qualification or a minimum of two years work experience in the public transport sector. Strong analytical skills, accuracy and attention to detail are essential. Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken are also required.
