Description The Humber Refinery is located in North Lincolnshire, and is one of the most complex within Europe. Every day the Refinery processes some 230,000 barrels of crude oil and other feedstock as well as Gasoline and Diesel for transportation. The Refinery is well known for its specialist coke production and also produces propylene, benzene and other feedstock used in the manufacture of products such as detergents, toiletries and plastics of all types. Responsibilities The Fixed Equipment Engineer may be responsible for: · Providing specialist technical expertise in support of the Refinery's operations/maintenance activities and aiding the development of new projects. · Participation in the corporate standards technical committees, approving specifications for new and replacement equipment, reviewing vendor equipment designs, reviewing piping designs, auditing vendors, and acting in a consultative role on day-to-day operational and maintenance issues. · Acting as mentor in your discipline to broaden the understanding of other engineering staff. · Assisting in the training and development of graduate engineers. · Involvement in major fitness for service assessments, devising repair solutions and participating in failure investigations. Basic/Required Qualifications · Legal right to live and work in the UK on a permanent basis without restrictions · A degree in Mechanical Engineering · Chartered status of Institute of Mechanical Engineers (I.Mech.E.) · Demonstrable post chartership expereince in the analysis of Pressure Vessels and Piping · Sound working knowledge of commercial engineering software · Effective communication skills, both written and verbal · Knowledge of ASME VIII Division 1, ASME B31.3, codes API 579, BS 7910 Preferred Qualifications · Possession of FEA and fracture mechanics skills · Ability to manage priorities and deliver on commitments · Competent team player · Self motivated and able to work on own initiative · Excellent problem solving skills
